[T]ownsend is a name that you may not have heard of, but with over 8,000 listeners on Spotify, it wouldn’t surprise me if his growth leads you to hear him at some point in the future. [T]ownsend is an up-and-coming artist with a story to tell. If you’re a long-time reader of mine you know that I primarily focus on an artist’s dedication, passion, and articulation of their singing voice. However, townsend truthfully has, in my opinion, the greatest voice of any artist that I have covered in the past few months.
I was fortunate enough to hear a track by townsend titled “Didn’t Happen”. The slower aspects of the song in concoction with townsend’s impeccable voice made for a fantasy-like listen during my first few plays.
As with any artist, looking into their lyrics oftentimes helps to find the fuel of their passion and desires throughout their career. [T]ownsend absolutely crushes it with his lyrics. From the very beginning of the song, we are told an immediate story: “Three months since we called it broken, still feels like I’m breaking up.” After hearing this myself, I discovered just how incredible of a storyteller townsend is through his lyrics– specifically during “Didn’t Happen”.
All in all, I can confidently say that I have extremely high expectations for townsend, and I look forward to see where he goes from here. If you are interested in giving “Didn’t Happen” a listen, then be sure to do so using the Spotify link attached:
