Thomas Abban- Be Loved (Track Review)

Written by Imani Wj Wright

Beyond the rhythms, melodies, and stargazing solos we love in our music, there are still so many subtle (or maybe not so subtle) variables that pull us closer to the artist, and music that we love. For me, it's the fearlessness and outstanding assurance in-self that an artist shows me on a piece.

As you listen to Thomas Abban's record, 'Be Loved', from his EP, Ambienic, you hear Abban display is airy vocal abilities from the beginning. There's just his voice, and the audience on the other end. I was impressed with his ability to captivate me as a listener with such minimalism. As the piece begins to progress and grow, it doesn't become jarring. The transitions are smooth, understood, and appreciated The boldness in his lyricism and storyline coincide with his delivery.

This is one of my favorite pieces from Abban's catalog, including 'Sinner' as my top pick.
