The Sunday Morning band’s standout element in Prayin’ Man is the song’s unique instrumentation— a groove built on bass, drums, and bongos. The tone of voice seems like it would belong in a metal, hard, or alternative rock song.
But, the singer whines, and strains tastefully over a groove that comes off more R&B based until about 1 minute and 10 seconds in; then, the groove is something straight out of the classiest elevator you’ve ever been in!
