SWANO'S 10 [VOLUME 3] PT.51

Curated by Grayson Jones
Here at SwanoDown, we listen to a ton of music on a DAILY basis. And during these days, of course, there are standout tracks. Below you'll find the 10 compositions we feel you should check out tonight (or soon). We find these artists to be the most cutting-edge. And oh yeah, thi
s is in no particular order... You decide!
Compositionally gifted artists such as Henry Aberson, Taylor Fleming, and WNTRS, are all featured today.

Henry Aberson- Sunshine Hunt (feat. Derran Day)

This sounds like a high fashion commercial, suited with coffee, cream, overcoats, and buttermilk biscuits. Real sunshine protrudes from my cochlea so bright it could burn a hole in my pillow as I’m dozing off with this in the background.

Henry Aberson & Nariah Taylor- Green

What's most important to understand about Henry Aberson is less about his production and more on his selection of sounds. Choosing what to create can make all the difference. Green is just as beautiful as the selection of artists on it.

Henry Aberson, Korey keys, Nariah Taylor- Needy

The vocalist mouths some of their lyrics how Erykah badu would, except here we have a more commercialized neo-soul sound. This attests to the Aberson trifecta with Green, needy…

Osmojam- Tantale

More like music for your auto-shop garage. No real lyrics here. If you’re looking for a great vibe with the character of a house instrumental, look no further!

Taylor Fleming- Lintu

When I hear a drummer using brushes, my mind immediately goes to funk or jazz. Here, Taylor Fleming and his ensemble introduce some groovy ideas and leave you with an experience that I imagine is what it’s like in a jam session with the band.

WNTRS- Sports car

This was my first time hearing WNTRS and he resembles a few artists we have shared here. What separates him from others is his simplicity. This particular track adds meat to a playlist without overwhelming yout ears.

Chris Bloom- Back to me

Do you remember the viral trend when artists would cover their tracks over someone playing a ukulele next to them? Polo G, Sexyy Red, Gunna, Harry Styles… Chris Bloom?!? This piece truly showcases Bloom's voice and gorgeous approach to musicality.

Soulbaby x Dev, TheMusicMan- George J Jetson

Do you have a homie? If you do, you know what it’s like when linking up for the first time in a while. This song is a signature piece and probably a dope memory for these two. You can feel it!

Twodoorjay- I know

This is something I’d play at a kickback but not at a party. Although the theme reflects intimacy, the song can fill a room with its percussive elements. The type of love Jay explains and delivers in his lyrics justifies his name; the way a two door car only leaves space for one more person.

Ghost- Xenai

Songwriting is mainly organization and creativity. There are some parts where you can tell Xenai is writing from experience, therefore the illustrative literature works. I can’t tell if the song is called Ghost because they plan to disappear from the girl they reference or a ghost that matches their hue.
