"I spend all my time searching for validation. Does the word even exist if no one is looking at me?" — Swan
There’s something so captivating about an artist who is unapologetic about being imperfect, having flaws, and even fears within their life. It takes away from just listening to a song, and puts us in a position of listening to a human. Not only is it relatable, it’s grounding.
Swan delivers a basket of woes, hopes, and desires with her record, “The Outcome”.
Swan is singing along a minimal, but effective instrumental composition. There aren’t many thrills or flairs from her accompinnemtn, but without a doubt it is strong. Minimal, but full of power. Nonetheless, Swan is the leader of this piece. As she admittedly tells her lover she “put them through tests” to see if they’d stay around, she still sounds unsure in her decisions.
It’s almost as if Swan is developing a front to cover up her vulnerability and/or insecurities- or as she states herself, maybe it’s her ego getting in the way.
