I’m an avid fan of film. I must say, music reminds me so much of some of my favorite movies. In this particular case, it's Last Night (Who Got the Opp) by Shorty B OK.
This track has a nefarious sound to it that is reminiscent of an old horror movie. The contributing factor of this sound is the piano-like twinkle (maybe xylophone/chimes). In Last Night (Who Got the Opp), the atmosphere is very eerie featuring high-pitched and dramatic music to build tension.
Like a horror film, the subject matter for Shorty B OK’s track is that of a frightening topic and is told from a vengeful narrator's perspective. This aspect gifts another layer to the song that makes it all the more enjoyable. Shorty B makes it a point of emphasis to not rush any of his words and describes his character’s heinous act in ways that would not misconstrue his intent.
This piece takes classic elements from past generations of Hip-Hop/Rap as well as pop culture.
