Sam Setton’s "sad boy music" is officially a part of the Late summer Almanac. Just as we reach our peak into summer but before the leaves turn, we have a little window where the weather, atmosphere and mood can become still. Right there is where I hear and interpret 8 Years New Tears.
What starts out as something slower and filled with heartfelt lyrics picks up a head rocking aura that some would say it shouldn’t have. I think of Juice Wrld when I try to understand how this song intertwines the contrasting characteristics together.
