Rich DonDotta- OUTCHEA [SwanoDown Report]

“If you play music with passion and love and honesty, then it will nourish your soul, heal your wounds and make your life worth living. Music is its own reward.” – Sting

Well damn, I just finished watching the NCAA Championship game, and thought that would be the most exciting thing I’d see for the remainder of the day. Nah, I was wrong. Rich DonDotta’s BoxedIn performance, of his record OUTCHEA, just added an entirely new bolt of energy to my night. To be honest, I’m writing this joint with my hands going 1000 miles per hour right now.

Have you ever been an athlete listening to music, or seen an athlete listening to music before a game? It’s not that hard of a concept- there are some artists who simply have all of the tangibles and intangibles to get your blood rushing the way it should, while adding that extra bit of confidence you didn’t have moments before. Over some nostalgic horn samples, hard bass line, and pacing percussion,

DonDotta gives us a performance full of vivid imagery and heart wrenching verses. You may not have lived the story being told on this track, but for a little under 3 minutes, DonDotta makes you feel like you were right there with him during the described events. This is felt not just with "what" he says, but "how" he says what he's spitting. DonDotta creates this Us against the world atmosphere, and we’re here for it.
