Mum Child- nightingale (Instrumental Review)
Written by Imani Wj Wright
Being a musician/artist gives me a slightly different view on the world of creativity. I not only hear or see the art, I think about the process. I imagine that lightbulb moment that every artist has when they've finally figured the placement of pieces to their beautiful puzzle. While listening to 'nightingale' by Mum Child, I get a chill down my spine.
This piece is beyond the word "chill." So, let's call it "serene." There aren't a ton of layers to 'nightingale,' but there doesn't need to be. The melodic motif of this piece is an ear-worm, and something that I could hear people sampling for years to come. If you think of some of the most sampled songs of all-time, many of them have subtle elements that can be fully dissected, and still sonically exceed as stand alone sounds.
Great Work.
