You have to forgive us ladies, we do have egos. Some are bigger than others, but that’s besides the point. Maya Mae begs to differ on her newest single, Delusional. She sets the tone throughout the song, alerting us all that a fantasy is just that; a fantasy. You can have all the control that you want inside your dream world, create the perfect girl and the perfect life. Ultimately, reality will knock some sense into you when assuming your reality for one you created in your head.
This is a really strong single that supports women empowerment, loosening the grips of men who only have one speed. Maya also calls men out on how much we actually love our women. Some of us contradict that statement by how we treat our women in desperate times.
I really felt the vibe of the song and could understand her plight when it comes to situations of this magnitude. Putting smut on a female’s name is one of the worst things you can do, especially when you are gossiping and claiming false statements. It’s those female tendencies that make women view men as untrustworthy or not a good person overall. Maya’s voice is top notch and she brings it with Delusional.
