Kimberly Townsend- Bad Habit (Track Review)

Written by Lucas Ballard

An incredible rhyme scheme and alliteration grace our ears at the beginning of Kimberly Townsend’s track Habit: “When I’m facing, chasing, casing calculating the sides…” She has been on this journey for quite some time and as the song progresses, lyricism like this is common, giving a very spiritual and wholesome vibe.

Kimberly’s lyrics are poetic in that they do not paint an exact picture, but give you clues to her message. She says “But the ammunition falters so the energy leaks” meaning, that without a clear idea and purpose (the ammunition), there is nothing to grow or spread so the message and following fall short (energy).

This track is highlighted by a colorful and folky nature with introspective lyrics and an upbeat tone. Kimberly has a voice made for the radio and made for commercial entities.
