JOIE GREY- Rolling Thunder (Under The Influence) [Track Review]

Written by Grayson Jones

Rolling thunder is usually something you deal with in Arizona or New Mexico. But Atlanta’s JOIE GREY claimed their forecast called for Rolling Thunder today. The song we’re reviewing is Rolling Thunder (Under the Influence) by GREY and I must say, I’m introducing you to a real player.

GREY may be the type of artist to fake-yawn on a date at the movies to get their arm around someone (just jokes guys). Similar to this cliche, GREY is indulging in drinking and smoking with a significant other when they mention forgetting what happened the night before. The song progresses as he goes on to reference rolling thunder to describe or suggest how quick they both were under the covers.

Now, although they don’t specify whether they used that as an excuse to get under the covers, you must admit, this metaphor is timeless for either occasion. Find your own ulterior motive and use it to play Rolling Thunder (under the influence).
