Y’all … it’s time to talk about my favorite thing againnnnn –– love. But before we get into the nitty gritty, let me ask a few questions first. When was the last time when you were head-over-heels in love? (Yes, we’re digging today) And while kicking your feet on FaceTime is included (whoops my Gen Z showing my bad), I don’t just mean that kind of love. I’m talking about that, “Yup, this is my person” feeling. How did you meet this person? At what point did you realize you were in deep? Better yet, how has experiencing this love contributed to the person you are today? Lastly, what’s the longest amount of time you and this person had to be apart? Let those questions marinate for a little. Regardless of how this relationship played/is playing out for you, I’m sure it’s safe to say that sometimes, going any period of time without the person you love legit feels like you’re missing a lung.
With his song Missing You, Jeffrey Auguste wears his heart directly on his sleeve. In this heartfelt ballad, Jeffrey Auguste gives us straight “a life without you in it is a DUB” energy. He writes about how really, all he wants to do is shower his woman with love and affection, and treat her like the goddess she most likely is. (Which is what we all want, right?) Within this piece, you can hear the desperation behind Jeffrey’s voice, as if there is a chance that his efforts may not set things in motion as much as he hopes they will. Or maybe I’m just nosy.
