Evie Irie- Little More Love (Track Review)

A Little More Love will go a long way into creating a better tomorrow, today. In light of the recent act of violence towards another unarmed African American, more love is needed in this world today than ever before. Music that promotes positivity is conducive to sparking a change because it’s universal. Evie Irie spreads a message with her single, Little More Love. 

She takes the audience on a trip down peer pressure lane, specifying all the images that we consider "cool" now. The media pushes certain narratives that aren’t true, knowing that young minds are malleable. Some of these negative images are bound to have a negative impact on the youth. Evie lets us know that we don’t have to be what society wants us to be. We make our own rules and decide what makes us “cool”.

They Laugh at what you’re wearing

And it’s way overdone

Now your holding back tears, while you’re holding a gun

These are powerful images that are painful to hear, yet necessary in order to understand how others may feel. People aren’t allowed to be themselves and that’s a problem. Little More Love encourages us to embrace our imperfections and love one another. The world needs less hate and negative judgment towards others.
