Have you ever seen a spectacular trailer for an up and coming movie and put a reminder on your calendar to go see it as soon as its in theaters/streaming? How about when you were a kid and your parents said they's have a surprise for you if you were "good"? Well- stay extra nice my friends, Chanova Sky is prepping us for her 2025 already, and we're not even out of 2024's October yet! But, who can blame her? She's doing it the right way. The people have to be ready and in the know for some of the much needed sounds we'll be getting from Sky.
Chanova's story is indicative of a person who consistently has been cultivating their craft, and is now seeing the fruits of their labor. With Filipino-American roots, Sky is no stranger to the art world, and has been steadily building a repertoire for 3 decades now. Writing poetry is also in her bag. In the mid 90s, one of Sky's first poems was published in the National Library of Poetry. To no surprise, she's also prolific, having written over 150 songs since the age of 12.
Chanova's voice is easily recognizable, and undoubtedly unique to her. Her lyrics, which will get you out of struggling place will also pull your soul close. So when her now manager discovered her at a Karaoke bar, he knew he had to to help Chanova get to the next level. When she performed that night, she was the only performer who received a standing applause. It's the kind of thing that you see in movies. The perfect scene. The person who deserves it is the one getting it.
