We all have someone in our life that we just can’t get enough of, and its evident in this single “Bullet” by Chandra Rhyme that she is “high off love.” She can’t get enough of this adrenaline.
I fell in love with the classic r&b style that is displayed within the beat. Chandra adds a modern spin on the 90’s R&B sound that we have naturally become fond of over the years. Her vocals are smooth and direct with a slight auto tune that also adds to the tenderness of the track. “Bullet” is about giving your all to someone and wanting that same feeling reciprocated, “Every time I try I just can’t pull away, you got a hold on me that makes me want to stay.” The hook of the song is suave to the ear but there is a hidden intensity that surfaces in the lyrics, “And like a bullet I want you to ricochet, I want it, I can’t get enough.”
Chandra Rhymes is all about taking risks to convey undaunted lyricism with tear jerking melodies. “Bullet” is sensual, honest, addictive and feels somewhat mystical to the listener. Chandra is also a classically trained dancer and her vocal movement reflects this as well with her effortless flow. We can’t wait to see what else the multi-talented Chandra Rhymes will woo us with next.
