Adversity causes some men to break; others to break records. — William Arthur Ward
I’ve been writing articles for years, and with that comes a lot of time on task. I’ve delved into the worlds of politics, music, culture… And they all have their idiosyncrasies that make you have to approach them differently. But nonetheless, you still can fall victim of monotony if you’re not careful. I’m constantly yearning for something new, something awe-inspiring, and this week I’ve found it.
Prince Bruce, who I’d like to call a “professional ambitionist” is taking on the challenge of setting/breaking the Guinness World Record for the highest altitude free-dive. How many people wake up every morning with that on their mind? And for those that do, how many actually follow through with that goal? Not many. This puts Bruce in an upper echelon class of go-getters and goal-seekers. Bruce’s goal in all of this is not singular though. He most importantly looks to inspire people to always chase their dreams no matter how unattainable or “crazy” they may seem.
Bruce sets to defy gravity and explor the ocean’s depths with this endeavor. Let’s wish him the best of luck, and hope is impact is lasting!
